NAMI NC's BIG EVENT TO RAISE AWARENESS and FUNDS
News and Update - November 1, 2005!!
Back To TopNAMI Walks in the Triad was held on October 8, 2005 at Triad Regional Park. The clouds and light rain did not discourage the 250 people on hand who walked in celebration of those they honor for their struggle with mental illness. It seemed like a great big NAMI party with music, food, new and old friends, families getting together, and community involvement. Triad Park was the perfect venue for NAMIWalks. We had over 60 teams registered and the preliminary total for gross revenues is $63,000!
On behalf of the NAMI North Carolina Board of Directors and Benjamin Staples, NAMI NC Executive Director, we want to express our appreciation to all who have worked so hard to make NAMIWalks in the Triad a success!
Affiliates in North Carolina that participated in the Walk will use their share of the revenues to support projects in their communities, increase their advocacy, and better serve their members. We are pleased that the Affiliates in NAMIWalks in the Triad took this opportunity to help meet the goals of NAMIWalks - raise funds for the work we do and raise awareness about mental illness.
Contributions are still coming in. We will keep you posted with the overall Walk total, team totals, and individual fundraising results as it becomes available.
Again, thank you!!!
